Had a fantastic meal here with my family, the service from Ethan was extremely attentive and personable. He was also very knowledgeable about the menu and gave some excellent recommendations on food choices and wine. The food was of an excellent high standard. Would definitely recommend this establishment to friends and family and look forward to returning. Food & drinks: Great selection on the menu with seasonal produce.

6 of us stayed sat night as a group of friends, one with a dog who was well received. Chose the pub as we had stayed a few times under its previous ownership and it was around 90 minutes drive for each couple from various parts of UK. Our thanks to the team who looked after us so well despite a busy dinner service. Food was great, creative and well presented. Nice breakfast. The front of house team were polite, smiley and well trained right down to the young runners. A relaxing enjoyable stay which we all agreed we would love to repeat in the summer when we can take advantage of the lovely gardens beside the canal. Thanks all. Highly recommend.

While staying in Kintbury recently, we called in to The Dundas Arms for a quick drink…. What a charming setting! The staff were pleasant and helpful and we decided to return a few evenings later for an evening meal. The food was outstanding and once again, the staff were friendly, well trained, and attentive. We loved it so much that we have decided to visit the area again in the new year and we hope to book one of the lovely hotel rooms at The Dundas Arms for our stay. Walkability: Situated near the canal which is great for walking. Also nearby is the train station which makes nipping to and from Hungerford or Newbury a breeze. Food & drinks: Amazing food! Great choice of drinks

Excellent family meal for Christmas. 14 of us all got our meals flawlessly and we were looked after by such lovely staff who were very attentive, put it this way - out glasses were never empty. Thank you for a fantastic time, we’ll be back!

Great pub, located right next to the train station. Beautiful, large garden for the summer and a lovely covered heated area for when it’s a little bit colder! Great staff, supper friendly! Highly recommend to anyone travelling by or living in the village!

Lovely hotel with not just good food but great service. The breakfast was just as delicious every morning (we tried both the Full English Breakfast and Eggs Benedict) and the best Fish & Chips we’ve ever had! And we have tried quite a few traveling through Scotland! The Sunday roast was a first for me, but definitely not the last. The rooms are very spacious and the beds are very comfortable. Very cozy with the little canal just behind the hotel, both when sitting in the outdoor area and outside of the patio of the hotel room. We will definitely be back again! Rooms: Very spacious, welcoming and extremely comfortable bed. Walkability: It’s possible to walk by the canal and the scenery is SPECTACULAR. Food & drinks: Had the best fish and chips we’ve ever had and we’ve tried a few traveling through Scotland.

Our favourite pub has been transformed in a most beautiful way under the new management! I’ve never had more tastier and exquisite food! The river view rooms are beautiful, warm, luxurious and there are little comforting pieces left for the customers which make your day and night even more enjoyable. The staff are friendly and very helpful and the chef is fabulous! The manager is professional, kind and very passionate about her pub. Thank you! Treat yourself and visit The Dundas Arms one the most beautiful pubs in West Berkshire! Rooms: Large, luxurious, peaceful and with a lovely view next to the river. Food & drinks: Delicious food!

We came down for just one night for a birthday treat. The team were lovely and polite. Although busy it was busy for Sunday lunch it was lovely and the beef was cooked brilliantly. The room and breakfast was perfect and the countryside ambiance was a nice break from London. Special thanks to lovely lady in charge who made our stay extra special.

We had a couple of nights plus our dog and were really impressed. Lovely room, excellent food, a very chilled atmosphere and a beautiful location. The only slight negative, and it has been mentioned in other reviews, the staff really need to be more attentive. It was quiet and so it shouldn't be necessary to leave the table to order dessert or a drink. The exception being the lovely young lady taking breakfast orders, she was great! Breakfast was first class, although I didn't bother enquiring about the missing egg with my full English! Like I said, the staff need to be a little more on the ball but that's my only criticism. We certainly plan to return! Noteworthy details: Some great walks just seconds away.

Came for lunch with my family. Service was very slow but there seemed to be quite a few staff members - 5 that I saw and I didn’t really get to the back room. The main lady there was wonderful and great chatting with my children but when it came to drinks and food it was slow. The food was lovely when it did come but it was 1hr and 20 minutes - which is long when you have two children. It’s a great pub but definitely lacking in great service.
